New Day...New Week!!!

It's a new day of a new week! Restart and renew yourself this morning and the day ahead will be yours.

Richard Whatley said, "lose an hour in the morning and you will spend all day looking for it".

I've spent the last 2 days in Nashville enjoying the vibe of the city and celebrating two amazing people at their beautiful wedding. It was a wonderful weekend with my wife touring the city and eating some amazing food. A weekend I wish didn't have to end. However, "like all good things" we had to go home and get back to the day-to-day routine.

I woke at my usual 4:52am to get ready for my run and thought to myself, why am I getting up?

I really thought about sleeping in this morning, since it had been a long weekend. I did owe it to myself to get a little more rest and it's only Monday. I've got the whole week to get up and run. Who's really going to check-in with me to see if I got up? Who is even really effected if I choose to stay in bed just another hour?

As I'm sitting here now I realize that the decision to get up didn't happen this morning. The decision to get up and run happened last night. It happened when I set my alarm with purpose last night. It happened when I set my goals with purpose a month ago. It happened when my "why to" became greater than my "why not".

Ursula K. Le Guin said, "morning comes whether you set the alarm or not". This is so true! We only get this day once. We only get this morning one time. We won't be able to go back and do it again. We can't hit pause on life. Time travel as far as I know, still hasn't been invented. We get as much time in the day as we choose to make available for ourselves. Why not get up early this morning and get going?

Enjoy your morning and be thankful for the extra time you get! You have a purpose in this world; go find it, embrace it and live it!

"The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light." - Romans 13:12 NIV
