Keep working at it!
I took my son to UGA's last regular season baseball game against Furman this past week. While there he asked me if he could play out on the field. I told him with a lot of practice and determination, he could possibly play out there every week.
He was simply talking about running the bases after the game, however the point still made since to him and the next day he asked me this..."Dad, can we practice 5 days a week over the summer? Monday to Friday? We'll rest on Saturday and go to church on Sunday."
You see, the other day he was asking me why he didn't make the AllStar Team. (He's 6...) I told him he probably would have made the team, but that I wanted him to enjoy his summer doing fun things like going waterfall searching and to the pool. I told him that "AllStars" took a lot of time and we wouldn't be able to go on vacations and to the lake.
I continue to think about it and sometimes question whether or not we should have signed him up to play. He is just 6 you know?
Regardless, I was impressed by his drive to get better and continue doing something he loves.
My son LOVES baseball and would play it ever second of every day if he could. He watches it on t.v., gets books from the schools library about it, collects baseball cards and literally writes or draws about it in his classroom morning work everyday. He's LOVES baseball!!!
Here's my answer to his question earlier:
Side Note - this may be something to inspire you to do your best today as well....
Yes, we can practice 5 days a week...
HOWEVER..it's NOT always going to be easy.
It's NOT always going to be fun.
You're going to have to work hard.
You're going to have to do your best.
You will probably get tired and mad, but continue to listen and learn.
You will probably get hot and not want to go, but drink more water and let's go anyways!

I've coached my sons baseball team for 2 seasons now and have used this peace of advice at every game and every practice. I can't remember where I heard it, but I think it's something we can use every day.
Do Your Best. Work Hard. Have Fun! (Anonymous)
Jeff Bezos says, "Work Hard, Have Fun, Make History."
What are you doing that you need to keep working at it? Ask yourself this...are you working hard? Are you doing your best? Are you having fun?
If not, what do you need to change to make that happen?
In my line of work this verse has helped me stay focused and keep going.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." -Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
Here's another quote I love...
"Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day." -George Allen, Sr.
